Without further ado, this is what you have or maybe have not been waiting for! Well an acquired taste comprises of liking Bryan Adams, Erasure, Let Loose, Savage Gardens, 60's, 70's disco, 80's stuff and The Lighthouse Family. I am not a total loss as it is very common for me to be found listening to most chart music, classical, and what goes. I have to say I cannot sit down and listen to heavy music. The heaviest I get is Queen, Extreme and ermmm well you can sort of work out what else going by the afore mentioned groups. Now for the good bit, my claim to fame. Thank you Capital (which incidentally you can download a plug and play device from their site and hear them all over the world. Technology, ain't it grand!!) for running an Erasure competition where the prize was a back catalogue of all their CD's and a chance to meet them back stage at Hammersmith Odeon (London) and I was able to get some piccy's AND a video, alas the video was taped over by my sister's husband who is now in a wooden box 6' under (joking) but I think that is where he deserves to be! Anyway, back to the present, here follows a couple of piccy's to peruse. This was for my mate Michelle. She asked, I did. Andy thought it a bit prudish but hey, he knows I buy his CD's They are a great pair of guys and lets hope they go for at least another 10 years They have loads of web pages for Erasure, but the official page for Erasure is composed by Mute, their record label. They have another tour running in connection with their new album which was released on 31st March 1997 called Cowboy and they will be in Wembly on 18th April. I have to give my opinion on this. I think that the concerts that they perform are better in a smaller arena as they give a bloody good show and a large arena loses the atmosphere. Hey ho, the Tiny Tour which was performed last year in the Shepherds Bush Empire was one of the best that I have ever seen, bearing in mind that I have only ever been to 3 of their concerts, it does not give me a real right to opinionate, but it was the best ever!!!!! Right next on the agenda is Let Loose. Now those that are in the know will know that Let Loose are now no more, but alas we got 2 concerts out of them and 2 fantastic albums. They also have web page that Sarah Tulk has spent many an hour on that has loads of news and pictures. It is good to see that I am not the only other person in this world that know who Let Loose are. They have had some great songs out that we all know and love but do not associate with Let Loose. To name a few.. Crazy for you.. One Night Stand....Seventeen. NOW do you know who they are???? OK, a picture might jog your memory. These were taken at their last concert at the Shepherds Bush Empire 6th November where a bloke ran on stage and snogged Lee (the guitarist) and confessed that he loved him ahhhh that is Devotion (another song title) Even though we were at the front of the stage, we were still disadvantaged due to a humonsterous speaker in our way, and the fact that Rob was at the back of the stage made it almost impossible to get photo's and Lee is a tad shy. After his male fans confession I can see why! Savage Gardens is a new band on my list, but I have to say, their debut CD is fantastic! I was not going to buy the CD originally but I thought what the hell and did it. They have quite a large following and already have done a tour, and they will be in London on 28th May 1998. I feel saddened that I will not be able to get to this concert, but I will get to the next one. There is an excellent web page that a guy called David has dedicated to them and it is very informative and even better to look at. Take a peek, just hit the link. A few pictures and a running commentary of the concert. Before I go any further, this was the first ROCK concert I have been to, and it was fantastic. Bryan Adams is here for his fans and he knows what respect is all about. Crikey, I have never even met the bloke, even though my friend was determined she was taking him home, and I have nothing but praise for the man. Right, the beginning is the best place to start, so here we go. First and foremost, he tricked us all, my friend (Michelle) and I were 5 rows from the front of the standing area and we thought we got a good place, but then Bryan tricked us all by starting the concert in the middle of the Arena. We kicked each other, but that does not get the story written so, he came back to the front stage after singing 2 songs all by his self with only his guitar for company, so we apologised for kicking each other and got on with rocking 'til we drop. The guitarist Keith, has a large following and as Bryan was reading out the banners that people had lovingly prepared, one read....... Keith Kissy Kissy, so Bryan got this girl up on the stage to do the business with our Keith, but alas Bryan was in the way (no complaints from me) so I could not get a picture, but I do have one of Keith to put here anyway so Keith fans.......enjoy I am not going to apologise for the quality of this or any other photo, as these people know how to move around, and people in the front are SO ignorant, and their hands were all over the place, and like a magnet to my lens. Any way moving on....... Bryan asked if there was any musicians in the Arena, my hand was a bit low as the most I can produce is half of Fur Elise and a few nursery rhymes on the ole piano, but he did ask for a vocalist, so tempting, but 11,000 people around me was a bit of a put off, also the fact that I join in with my 2 cats is not really what he was looking for, so I stayed put. Right, where was I?, Oh yes, the musicians came up on by one, Pete was the Drummer, Dave the lead Guitar, Marlon on Bass and the vocalist did not seem to have a name but Bryan and this guy had a great conversation, which was all about this guy's mother who was in the audience. LAUGH!!! I nearly cried! Bryan has such a humour, wow he is something. We then had to name the band, well the photo has the name at the top, I refuse to use such naughty words in my commentary, so look and enjoy.......... We then had to get them to sing a song, the vocalist was taking sooooooooo long to choose, we chose one for him....cue Summer of '69. The other band members were great, but the singer needs a lot of practice before he goes pro. Bless him though, he has some courage to get up in front of all the Arena and strut his ermmmmm stuff. After singing some more of his fandabbydosie tunes, he then went back to the centre of the arena with the rest of the band and they sang some more tunes, one being 'Wild Thing' boy he belted that one out! Someone decided that they wanted him to sing 'I wanna be your underwear' so they threw their bra at him, he was impressed but decided that Dave (Bass Guitar) would suit it better and hung it on his guitar, Dave then thought that Tommy (Drummer) would enjoy then even more so they then went and hung them on his drum set. I am not sure what happened to it after that, but do I really care? NO I wanted him to get his cute butt back on the front stage. He did sing 'Underwear' and there was a set of blow up Bra's and Knickers that swung and gyrated in the air, it was tacky but HEY I can relate to tacky. Any way so that you can sympathise with me, here is what I saw when he was in the He got about 20 people up on this stage and believe me it was tiny, but Bryan was hidden amongst these people. What a peoples person! He then came back to Michelle and I and sang a few more song before leaving us for good, but I got one more last picture, it may seem bad to you, but if you saw this picture in the photo form, you would see how good it is.. any way enough yakking here it is If you want to visit his web site, click onto the top logo, it will take you there. I hope you enjoyed my brief commentary, Michelle and I would like to say we had the best time ever and thanks to Bryan and the gang, and hurry up and get your butt back for another concert....... we will be there armed with camera and some saucy underwear (telephone number embroidered on) If you have anything you thing I could add to this page, please mail me
